At the onset special thanks to Mr. Shrey Keny for his informative workshop on “What and How of Progressive Web Apps” . It was great to realize to know the difference between “Native” Apps and “Progressive” Web Apps. Although the progressive web apps are high in “reach”, the native apps are better with access to your data and camera. An example of native app could be Pokemon GO and that of Progressive Web Apps are Twitter, Facebook, Google Maps, etc. The year 2007 marked the beginning of UI(User Interface) with the launch of Apple's first iPhone. In the year 2014 number of mobile internet device users exceeded the number of Desktop and Laptop Internet Users. After all this theoretical information, Practical hands on experience was given. We were told to develop a Weather App with reference to Codelabs by Google. This was progressive web app deployed on Firebase, giving weather details such as temperature of different cities in United States of America.

GDG Goa organised this workshop in the Information Technology Department of Goa Enginnering College Farmagudi-Goa.It may not be out of context here that in his inaugural address, Dr. Nilesh Phaldessai, Head of the Department made special mention of your truly and also of my father who was his student.
